My food, their food

Sometimes recipes that look good in the cookbook or online don’t work in real life — or our culinary abilities aren’t up to par. But I was quite pleased with our rendition of a Bon Appétit recipe tonight. We made scallops with mashed potatoes with tarragon sauce (and our own addition of a side of roasted asparagus — I bought a perfect little Le Creuset dish at a neighbor’s garage sale yesterday for 50 cents and couldn’t wait to use it. )

We couldn’t find fresh tarragon at two nearby grocery stores today and were too much in lazy-Sunday mode to go all the way to a nice store so we used dried. Here are the results:
