My first farm share!

Baskets of produce

My bounty from my first week’s Misty Meadows Farm CSA share:

  • 3/4 pound tomatoes (that I’m not afraid to eat amidst the tomato furor in the media)
  • a handful of crisp bright parsley
  • 2 heads of broccoli
  • 1 head green lettuce (the lovely silky kind, not iceberg)
  • 1 huge head multi-colored lettuce
  • 1 bunch kale
  • 1 head napa cabbage

This was the first time in a long time (I’m talking close to 25 years, yikes!) that I’ve picked bugs off my food. And I say that as a very good thing. It means my food was in the ground this morning which is precisely where it ought to have been.

Stay tuned to FoodConnect.com to see what we cook up with the goodies from our overflowing crisper. In the meantime, see more photos.
